Requests from SAAMA’s
members led to the development of the SCPP examination and certification
scheme. The dire need for professionalism in the management of physical assets needs no further explanation.
SAAMA is therefore proud to contribute to
excellence in physical asset management through the SCPP certification scheme,
which aims to achieve the following:
Entrenching
PAS 55 (and its further development) as a recognised standard in South Africa.
Recognising
individuals who display a deep understanding of Physical Asset Management and
the application of PAS 55.
The requirements for
passing the SCPP examination are high. An individual who received the SCPP
certificate can therefore be regarded as having a broad base of knowledge and understanding
of physical asset management in general, physical asset management systems, and
the application of PAS 55 towards sound asset lifecycle management.
Because of
on-going development in the field of physical asset management, notably the
development of PAS 55, the SAAMA SCPP certificate has a limited lifespan of three
years.
